Historical Districts

Santa Rosa is a city with history, and there are some neighborhoods with properties that reflect this history, it’s obvious when you drive through or visit friends in these neighborhoods or even better, when you live in one of these neighborhoods.  The most known are Railroad Square Historic district, Burbank Gardens and the McDonald Historic district. There is a new one, it’s called the Ridgeway Historic District. These 4 districts come to my mind, if you know of an other one, please let me know.

We have a rich architectural heritage: Carrillo Adobe from the Mexican period, Gothic and Greek revival, Queen Anne, Italiante, Stick/Eastlake styles and the Craftsmen and California Bungalow styles (my favorite). The city of Santa Rosa has a some great information about the subject on their website.

A few historical homes that are currently for sale:

1001 St Helena Ave  – In the McDonald historical district

414 8th Street – St. Rose historical district

523 Humbolt Street – Cherry Street historical district

922 Stewart Street – McDonald historical district

1228 Morgan Street – Coming soon on the market in the Ridgeway Historical district

Have a great day, the weather is beautiful!
